Senior Lecturer in Fashion Culture and Business, 1FTE
Do you have experience of teaching Fashion cultural, theoretical and business studies and the ability to create an inclusive teaching and learning environment? Are you looking for a challenging role in an environment that is open, vibrant and welcomes new ideas? Then join UEL as a Senior Lecturer in Fashion Culture and Business and you could soon be developing and delivering high quality, innovative and engaging teaching for our diverse student cohort.
Your challenge? To design, develop and deliver innovative teaching for BA (Hons) Fashion Culture and Business students. You’ll also collaborate with colleagues and management on the development of existing and new programmes.
You will have a degree in a relevant discipline and postgraduate qualification and/or significant professional experience in fashion, cultural studies and business. You will understand relevant industry practices and have knowledge of historical and current debates in areas such as queer theory, cultural appropriation and appreciation and decolonial and intersectional debates in fashion to name a few. You will also bring experience of module and course development and collaboration with external stakeholders, including industry partners, and the ability to undertake research and/or consultancy.
Adapt at conveying ideas to students from a range of backgrounds, you will have a deep commitment to anti-racist teaching practice, closing the award gap, gender equality, and LGBTQIA+ empowerment. You will also enjoy developing professional relationships with students, colleagues, employers, and outside agencies alike.
